Getting Started with the nZEb revenue streams and co-benefit calculation
The objective is to present new business advantages and opportunities to potential investors, going beyond technical performance analysis. In order to assess the direct monetary value of a building, there are various co-benefits for the individual stakeholders, which often cannot be assessed directly in monetary terms and therefore do not appear in the life cycle cost analysis.
These concern marketability, rentability, value development, comfort, but also image, climate protection or regional goals such as energy autonomy. As far as possible, these advantages and additional benefits should be taken into account by the various stakeholders in the relevant decision-making process. With this pinboard module co-benefits such as increased productivity, improved health, publicity value, higher renting opportunities, reduced employee turnover and reduced absenteeism can be quantified.
Step 1 – Data Input
The module consists of two sections for the project details (reference & nZEB variant), the results section and a section to define global parameters.
1. The first tab "Reference Building" asks for general information about the building. These are subdivided into Financial and Energy related inputs.
2. The second tab "nZEB variant" deals specifically with information that is nZEb related. A distinction is made between the following factors:
• Added Values
3. General information energy and costs needs to be entered "Global Parameters - General" and "Global Parameters - Office only".
Step 2 – Results/h2>
The results section shows the additional costs for the nZEB and the cost savings, structured according to the various added values. In addition, the second chart shows the payback time.
The purpose of the tool is to serve as a basis for discussion and provide an indication of the co-benefits of nZEBs. No values / assumptions in this model can be guaranteed by CRAVEzero. All values should be seen as qualifying assumptions, but not guarantees, in order to serve as a basis for discussion.
Step 3 – Detailed results
To to find out how the different co-benefits and revenues as can be seen in the results charts were calculated in detail, you can always take a look the constanly updating "detailed results" tab on the top menu.
